BURNABLE DUPLICATED REPLICATED
Business Cards have not significantly changed for decades, until the mid 90’s when the Electronic Business Card concept was developed. And it has taken off! With the CD Card being called a variety of names from E-card to Digicard,CD Digital card and Card 21 plus many others.

The cards can be in a variety of shapes & sizes and are available in burnable (you are able to burn your own content to the card using a normal CD burner) and replicatable (mass produced in the same way as your music Cds.)

The evolution was not without a few glitches, as some of the cards (especially the rectangular shaped ones) would,at times, not stay in the drives, were noisy and could not be read or burnt to by some computers. Although improvements have been made to the design of the rectangular cards, (credit card shape), they can still cause occassional problems. The major difference with this shape is that they sit on top of the drive, whilst the cards with rounded ends or corners sit in the 8cm drive.

Many non computer aware users also found this new concept a little confusing, especially in attempting to use them in computers with caddy and slot installation. (The computer technicians were making a little extra income recovering cards from these drives!)

Today we are finding a much higher awareness of the card, with the occassional confusion that some cards will not run on both PC & Apple Macs. This, however, has nothing to do with the card but rather the way the content has been prepared and placed onto the disc.

The replicated card is produced in a similar manner to an audio CD with the content being taken from a master and stamped onto the card. The label is also “printed” to the card either by Screen printing or offset methods. Either way produces a quality presentation.

Burnable Cards are created with the same methods as burning to ordinary 12cm CD’s, with most burning software provided with your CD Burner. Nero and Easy CD creator software have both worked well with our CD Cards.

With your CD Card you can really let your imagination and presentation run wild. Video, Sound, Text, Graphics all can be incorporated to make that card be anything you want. Catalogues, Price Lists, Software Demos, Company Reports, Resumes, Weblinks, Interactive Presentations, Photo Albums, Invitations, the list is endless........

Putting your presentation together is not difficult. You can use programs ranging from PowerPoint to the many multimedia packages available to be downloaded from the Internet to the Macromedia Suite (preferred by many multimedia companies). As you go through the range you will generally find the more ‘Bells & Whistles’ the program has, the more complex it will be to put together.
